DeVonta Smith Debuts Custom Kobe 6 Inspired Cleats on Thursday Night Football
When DeVonta Smith stepped onto the field against the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football during the 2024 NFL season, he did it in one-of-one custom heat made by GameDay Custom Cleats.
Built on the Nike Vapor Edge 360 Untouchable platform, the pair was fully reconstructed and inspired by the legendary Nike Kobe 6 silhouette — bringing Kobe Bryant’s iconic “Mamba Mentality” aesthetic onto the football field.
The cleats were one of several custom pairs we created for Smith throughout the year, each designed specifically for game-day performance while still delivering a true sneaker-inspired look. Unlike standard painted customs, this pair featured a complete custom cut-and-sew reconstruction using premium materials, transforming the cleats into something entirely unique.
The base model used for the project was the Nike Vapor Edge 360 Untouchable, one of Nike Football’s most explosive speed cleats, known for lightweight responsiveness and aggressive traction built for elite playmakers. Smith paired the custom cleats with another strong performance under the primetime lights against Washington during the Eagles’ 2024 campaign.
What made the pair even bigger was the sneaker world recognition it received after kickoff. The cleats were featured across Nice Kicks social channels, bringing the crossover between football culture and sneaker culture to an even larger audience.
